Gemstones are a lovely way to add colour to jewellery, and in this workshop you’ll learn how to make a cabochon* stone set ring from scratch.
We’ll start by making the base ring out of D (or rectangle) shaped wire, texture it, then solder a pre-made bezel cup to it. Once you’ve sanded and polished your ring, you’ll be ready to set your stone.
*Cabochons are stones with a flat back and domed top.
If you’ve already attended a Make a Silver Ring workshop, this is a great workshop to build on the skills you’ve learned, but even if you’ve never made a ring before you’re very much welcome - don’t let a lack of experience put you off!
This workshop is 3 hours long to allow for all the different stages but there will be plenty of breaks and refreshments throughout. All tools and materials are provided and we’ll be using sterling silver throughout.
Please make sure you consider safety - wear closed toe shoes and tie long hair back.
This workshop is limited to 4 people.
Book online by clicking the button below, or pop into the workshop if you have any questions, or to book in person. If you have a request for a particular colour of stone, please pop it in the notes when you book - I can’t promise anything but I’ll see what I can do when I place my next gemstone order!
